Great movie...

I haven't taken any pictures in awhile (been so busy!) but thought I would review a movie I watched last night. I have been meaning to rent Vantage Point for awhile and I finally did. What a great movie! Steve and I both love the Bourne movies and the Italian Job and with those movies came great car chase scenes. The one in Vantage Point rivals the Bourne Ultimatum and blows Italian Job's out of the water! It was a very intense movie and I couldn't even glance at a magazine while watching it I was so enthralled. It is about a summit meeting on terrorism in Spain seen from several viewpoints. William Hurt, Dennis Quaid, Matthew Fox and Forest Whitaker star in it. It was truly compelling and a must see!

After Vantage Point, I watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall. It was good but not great. I like the other Judd Apatow movies with the same actors (Jason Segal, Paul Rudd, Seth Rogen & Steve Carell (although they weren't in FSM), Jonah Hill, etc.) like 40 year old Virgin, Knocked Up, Superbad... and I was a huge fan of Freaks and Geeks (also by Apatow) when it was on TV. Like those other movies though, I didn't like them that much the first time around. I watch them everytime they are on though and they get funnier and funnier. Kristen Bell wasn't right in the part of Sarah Marshall (although I do heart her- Veronica Mars rocked!) and Russell Brandt was a total scene stealer because he is just so funny.

Just thought I'd share!

Halloween! Yeah!

At a halloween party in the morning at our neighbor, Tara's house. The kids had so much fun! Henry (Thomas the Train), AJ (owl), Jack (Batman), Abby (puppy dog), Ryan (Mickey Mouse), Elizabeth (Little Mermaid) and Jack (Captain Hook). Tommy (SWAT) and Willy (NASA astronaut) were late and are in the next batch of pictures which I didn't get because I was trying to keep AJ in the picture!

Flying away from mom and the camera!

Trying to escape...

AJ was an owl this year and I made his costume. I hustled to get it done before his cousin, Adreanna's birthday party on October 11th. It was done and he got sick so he didn't go. Then he was supposed to have a party with his Tuesday playgroup but that was cancelled because they were switching rooms and painting... Finally, on Halloween we had a party in the morning at our neighbor's house. There were 5 moms and their kids from the neighborhood. It was very nice. Tara had a brunch and the kids were crazy and wild but it was a good change of pace. Andrew and I (Monarch butterfly) went trick or treating later in the neighborhood while dad passed out candy. We have the perfect size neighborhood (3 streets, about 20-25 houses) to trick or treat in and it was great to meet some of our neighbors. We really love our new house, its location, and our neighbors. Everyone is so friendly. We look forward to living here for a long time!

Does AJ take after Mom or Dad???

A very silly little boy...

Drawing on the driveway with chalk.

Playing golf.

On Thursday, October 30, it was so gorgeous out that we had to spend some time outside. We don't have a lot of outdoor toys so AJ either goes for Daddy's golf club, his lawn mower or the sidewalk chalk. I get bored out there and end up making large works of art on the driveway with chalk. Apparently, I inspired some kids in the neighborhood (as heard from their moms) who couldn't wait to add their own Halloween images to their driveways! AJ always adds his own touches to the images. He seems to be a natural at both art and golf. Hopefully he'll enjoy both!

Hiking at 9 Mile

We went hiking this past weekend (10/18) at 9 Mile out by our house. It was a little chillier than we thought it was going to be. Andrew tends to wander off the trail or just stop so it makes it hard to actually go anywhere. There is a gun range in the back of the recreation area that was, I'll say, very active. When we wandered out of the woods and were heading back to our car we saw a pack of kids and their dad all wearing blaze orange... I asked what they were hunting for and they replied, "Deer. It's T-zone. You should really be wearing orange." Hello! Shouldn't that be in the newspaper or posted by the entrance of the park???

At the Pumpkin Patch...

Okay, so I really don't have any pictures of the 'pumpkin patch' because AJ was all out of sorts and not behaving so I only got a few shots of him playing with the dog, Louie, at Helene's Hilltop Orchard. And the first time we went (9/28), I forgot the camera. He loves dogs and gets so excited when he sees one. He must miss Cosmo, as we all do.

Doepke Park

Tyler and AJ just playing!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!

AJ loves the swings!

AJ after going down the slide.

That's Mr. Bus Driver to you!

Tyler, in my photo gem of the day!

Mr. Joe and his son, Tyler. Tyler turns 2 on Nov. 1.

We met our friends, Joe and Tyler, at Doepke Park today and I brought the camera. It was cool but sunny and the fresh air was a great way to wear the kids out and nap today! This park (just down the street from both of us) is geared toward kids ages 1-5. It's fenced in which is great and this is the only park AJ actually plays on the equipment. We had a great morning!

Vilas Zoo (Madison) on Labor Day

Hey, it's hard to get 'action shots'! And whenever I put AJ on a carousel- I never seem to choose the animal that goes up and down. Go figure...
We decided to go to Madison over Labor Day weekend to the Vilas Zoo. AJ is obsessed with the goats (much to Mom's dismay since goats freak me out) and although I didn't get many pictures there I did get this adorable one of Andrew peaking through the polar bear cut out!

Rug Hoppers!

In the tunnel slide at gymnastics class

Look how high I can jump!

AJ's First Haircut

I don't know what's going on yet but I don't think I like it!

I was right...I don't like this at all!

What's that thing making noise? Oh, mommy uses one of those things. (A blow dryer proved to be a great distraction and dried those tears!)

I sure love this spiky new 'do. And my friend Kendra! (Kendra's daughter, Amelia, gave AJ his first kiss!)
