Dyeing Easter Eggs

We dyed eggs on Good Friday and I should have waited until Steve got home (he even came home at 3:30 that day) from work before I did it. I am lucky to have taken these pictures. Dyeing eggs with a 2 year old is a 2 person job- at least with our 2 year old! I have to admit I was pretty darn impressed at how well he got the egg out of the cup of dye with the spoon! So, after one tablespoon of red dye vinegar water down the hatch (without even a flinch) and one time out in the middle we successfully dyed 9 eggs!

This picture is indeed as bad as it looks. He dumped a sizeable amount of yellow dye on the table and floor... Although it could have been a heck of a lot worse.

The green dye was next...
While we were pulling the eggs out of the dye there were exclamations of 'Wow!' and 'Ooooh!' which made it pretty fun. I don't think of myself as a control freak but I think I may have been a little during this experience...

Looks like fun! Good call on the protective paint smock and placemat!
