Minnesota Children's Museum

At the beginning of June, we went to Minneapolis for Hilary's (I babysat for Hilary when I lived there and she was 6) high school graduation party and the next morning went to the Minnesota Children's Museum. It was actually a nightmare getting there because 94E was closed. CLOSED. We didn't know that and ended up getting all turned around and then we weren't sure if the detour would take us past it and we'd completely miss it. Funny thing was 94 opened at that exit! How weird is that? Andrew had a ball and I forsee him having an even better time as he gets a little older. It was busy since this was the weekend that we got record lows and it was raining.

The bubble table was a hit!

As was the water table...

Delivering the mail to the Uniform Shop #234

Working the cash register at the supermarket.

We watch Clifford occassionally but I don't think Andrew knows who that big red dog is!

The fish near the pond play area.

Beantown

In early May, Steve & I took a long weekend to check out Boston. We had a really nice time- good sites, good eats & good weather. I did blog about Boston already on my other blog, Indigo Star Fairy, and most of the pictures are the same but there is a little better commentary... We did all the typical things that there are to do in Beantown- Fenway, Duck Tour, Boston Public Library, Boston Public Gardens (loved it!!), Freedom Trail, Newbury Street, USS Constitution, Harvard, Hah-vahd Square...
Trinity Church
Steve & I at Faneuil Hall in front of a statue of Samuel Adams. OMG, a picture of Steve & I and no Andrew in sight! In fact a whole post without Andrew...

The very cool old graves at one of the many cemeteries along the Freedom Trail. The artwork is kind of kitschy and very neat. Is that disrespectful to the dead that I think the artwork is 'kitschy'?

Samuel Adams grave. All the rocks on top are a Jewish tradition to show that you have paid your respects. Flowers die, stones don't.

Boston Public Gardens. Steve & I ended up in here 3 timesin 4 days- it was such a cool park! The tulips were (obviously) in bloom and there are over 9000 in the Gardens.

They look like they are glowing which I think is kind of cool!!

Fenway! Yay! Every baseball fan should get to Fenway. And, of course, Wrigley!

This was on the Harvard campus. Absolutely adorable! It made me smile. :)

Making Mother's Day Cards

I know it has been forever and theese should have been up 2 months ago but life gets crazy, you know? We have been so busy!! Andrew and I made cards for Mother's Day this year and they turned out so cute that I just had to share. I know all the lovely ladies who got them loved them.

I just love these two pictures!! He was having a great time making fingerprint petals.

I used some paper he had fingerpainted for the vases. Aren't they so cute?!?

UW Spring Football Game

We headed down to Madison for the UW Spring Football Game and the first outdoor Farmer's Market last weekend. It also happened to be ridiculously nice out on Saturday. The Farmer's Market was fun but shoulder to shoulder people moving at a snail's pace by the time we got there which made it difficult to manuever a stroller (or a person for that matter) around so Steve went on the Capital lawn to play with Andrew. The lawn was toddler central and I forgot the camera in the car! But AJ had a blast running back and forth. We'll get down there again so I can take pictures. I did get to pick up some Hook's aged Cheddar (and some squeaky curds) at the Market but there wasn't a huge selection there. Mostly cheeses, sausage and plants that you plant. Did I mention that even though Madison has been getting yuckier weather than us their daffodils and crocuses and other spring flowers are in full bloom? Not fair. We headed to Great Dane for lunch for some delish pub grub. We are getting a Great Dane in Wausau! It is scheduled to open in the old Hereford & Hops building on May 22nd. Yum... After lunch, we headed to the game (with the camera as you can see).
Unbeknownst it to us the professional photographer capturing the game also captured the one of us above as we waited to snap a picture of AJ and Bucky. Someone Steve knows saw the picture on a Badger fan site and forwarded the site as well as Craig's blog (the photog) (www.craigjohn.com) with the picture posted on it. Craig sent me the picture after I told him that it was my family. Check out the cool photos he took from the day here. Also be sure to explore his site and view his AMAZING wedding/engagement photos that are artistic and extraordinary. When I just went to his site to get the link he had posted a note from & about me! Read it here.

AJ was so excited. It was his first time at Camp Randall. Definitely not his last!

A great father/son moment... Awwww.

This was taking from 40 rows up! Go Bucky!

AJ couldn't wait to meet Bucky. Oh Bucky! was one of his first words and he couldn't stop saying it when we were at the game. We waited awhile to meet him but it was well worth it!

Go Badgers!! I love this photo of him cheering!

After the game (and wandering around a very confusing neighborhood to find our car...) we went to our hotel for a much needed nap for the little one. Then we went over to our friend Paske's house for some drinks on the deck while the kids played and then off to Uno's for some dinner. Again left the camera in the car- those two were so cute playing together. Ava called AJ 'Energy'- 'Where's that boy Energy?' The next morning we stopped in to visit with Cathy and kids but missed Don by two minutes. We had a very fun weekend!!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! Today it was so beautiful out! We went to church (standing room only even though we got there 10 mins early- a little surprising at the 8:30 mass...) and then to brunch at the Wausau Country Club. They had a nice spread there! After brunch we came home and played outside for awhile and Andrew searched high and low for the eggs and basket the Easter Bunny hid for him. It was a great day!

Andrew with the Easter Bunny at the Country Club.

This kid is just a golfer. No ifs, ands or buts about it. I think he dreams about golf. That is all he ever wants to do!
Pure joy on his face...
Not sure why Steve is wearing his winter jacket... Andrew and dad are going to have a really great relationship if Andrew's love of golf continues.

I just love this picture!

Of course he likes to swing the bat too!

And look at that form!! He's a lefty and even got lefty clubs from Grandma and Grandpa Lipowski for his birthday.
I bought that shirt and sweater vest after Easter last year so he could wear it this year- glad it fit!!

Finding his Easter Basket and treats. He found all 12 eggs that were hidden. He liked the eggs that had M&Ms in them and they were gone in 3 seconds. Note to Easter Bunny: Andrew doesn't really like jelly beans. He'd put them in his mouth and then, when they were good and sticky, spit them out. He loved the Cars book that made sounds. And the super balls in another egg. We must have bounced them around for a half hour!
